Since I only planned to get married once, I wanted to make sure that my honeymoon was perfect. I know that it may not have been the most realistic of goals, but I knew that I should be able to come close.
So, my future husband and I sat down on a number of occasions to decide as to what we wanted to do on our honeymoon. Our views of a perfect honeymoon were definitely different from one another, but we thought we could compromise.
It took awhile for us to come up with a location, and we finally decided to go to Fort Lauderdale for the weekend of our wedding. Part of our motivation was that we were able to get a cheap rental car Fort Lauderdale and since we were spending so much on the wedding, any savings on a car rental were going to be welcome.
We booked some Orlando rental cars for the wedding so that we would have a ride to the airport after the wedding. We did have a problem with are rental car Orlando on the way there, and ended up taking a cab instead.
In the end though, our honeymoon was perfect, and I was able to go to the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, a dream that I had since I was a child. I had a great trip and a great husband – what more does a girl need?

Ah, Autumn. The weather turns cooler, the leaves change from green to beautiful shades of oranges, yellows and reds, and the air just seems easier to breathe. This is a great time of the year to drive the back roads with your windows down and take in nature at its best.
Here are some must-have truck accessories to make you journey-ready!
- Dog Boxes—You want to take your dog everywhere with you, right? Well, if there isn’t enough room inside cab, you need a dog box to add to the truck bed. A dog box will make it safe and easy for your four-legged friend to comfortably travel anywhere you decide to drive. After all, outdoor activities just aren’t the same without your best buddy by your side.
- Bed Liners—During the Fall, you will be in and out of your truck all the time. This means you will probably be throwing all sorts of things into your truck bed. Make sure your bed is protected from dents and scratches with a quality bed liner.
- Bike Racks—Every bike owner needs a bike rack for safe transport. This leaves your bed open to store other important things, like beer and camping gear.
Autumn is the time to get out and travel, so make your truck accessories ready for all of the adventures you have in mind.

It may seem obvious, but when you’re standing there in the dealership and that sports car with the fire-engine exterior and buttery leather seats is calling your name, one of the most important factors may go right out the window: consider what you really NEED!
Also along those lines, consider the practicality of features over the aesthetics. For example, if you live in Phoenix, Arizona, even though that four-door sedan is practical in every other way, if you buy the midnight black one because you think it looks the best, you just made a big mistake, one that you - and your family - is going to be feeling every time you get in that car in July.
Let your fingers do the walking. It’s not always necessary to walk around dealership after dealership in this day and age to find that perfect car. Research and browse for your cars online. If you look at local dealerships or sellers, you can still get that test drive, without all the pressure (or temptation) that you would find by wandering aimlessly around a lot.
Speaking of test drive: DO IT. Most of us wouldn’t choose a life partner without a first date, so don’t even think about putting said partner and your offspring in a car that you haven’t tested firsthand to be safe, secure, and comfortable.
Keep these tips in mind and you’ll be well on your way to the ride of your life.
| Automotive Careers: A Persistent Gender Bias? |

When we bring our cars, trucks or SUV’s into to a repair shop, more often than not, we expect a man to be the one lifting the hood. This perception continues despite the fact that many women have chosen the male dominated auto service industry as a viable career path.
In fact, the number of female mechanics is growing in spite of what is considered to be an obvious bias against women within the industry. There is even an indication that far more women would be in automotive services if it weren’t for this bias.
Attitudes are slowly but surely changing in this realm, as well it should. If one were in dire need of having their car fixed, they should take it to any individual with the knowledge to fix it – no matter their gender.
Besides, I am sure that women, who have so much more to prove, would strive to do a top-notch job.
That is not to say that men are not equally driven mechanics, I just feel that when people are trying to get noticed for what they do, they try a wee bit harder.
This last surviving dinosaur of gender wars, namely, the automotive industry, needs a bit of an overhaul anyway. When a female mechanic gets the chance to shine within it, it will compel those already in the driver’s seat to be less complacent and far more customer service oriented!
This in turn, will be beneficial to us all.
